Every map in The Witcher 3 on one page
This interactive Witcher 3 map carries 3,967 pins across the eight maps Geralt can open. Velen and Novigrad holds 1,748 of them, the Toussaint map from Blood and Wine 929, Skellige 904, Kaer Morhen 249 and White Orchard 119. The three small maps — the Isle of Mists, the Royal Palace in Vizima and the Other Worlds reached through the Spiral — carry the remaining eighteen.
Use the map switcher above the search bar to move between regions. Each Witcher 3 map is its own tile set at its own scale, so switching to Skellige loads the Skellige archipelago rather than panning across an empty sea, and Toussaint opens at the Blood and Wine duchy.
Quest starts and quest objectives are separate layers
The yellow exclamation mark the game draws on an NPC or notice board offering work is its own kind of pin, and the Witcher 3 map has 150 of them: 120 in the base game and Hearts of Stone, 30 more for Blood and Wine. These are the places a quest is picked up, and 119 of them link straight through to the quest on this site.
Quest objective markers are a different layer, 2,757 pins covering 367 quests. They mark where a quest sends Geralt rather than where it begins, so a single witcher contract can scatter a dozen markers across Velen. They start switched off, which keeps the map readable; switch the quest objective group on in the sidebar when you want to trace a quest across the region.
Filtering pins on the Witcher 3 map
The sidebar groups every pin type into quest starts, quest objectives, fast travel, points of interest, races and services, and each type can be switched off on its own. Quest objectives and the 213 race markers start hidden, which leaves 1,210 pins across the Witcher 3 maps — every world location plus the 150 quest starts — and that is the fastest way to plan a clearing run through Velen or Ard Skellig.
The search box filters the map as you type and matches a pin name, its type, its description and its quest objective. Searching "nest" narrows the Witcher 3 map to monster nests, searching a quest name pulls up only that quest's markers.
Signposts and fast travel in The Witcher 3
Fast travel in The Witcher 3 runs between discovered signposts, and there are 229 of them across the maps. A signpost has to be visited on foot or on Roach once before it becomes a destination, after which any signpost can send Geralt to any other one he has found.
Skellige adds 33 harbours on top of that. Boarding a boat at a harbour crosses between islands without sailing the whole way, which matters because Ard Skellig, Undvik, Spikeroog, Hindarsfjall and Faroe are otherwise separated by long stretches of open water. The Witcher 3 map also pins 37 portals and 27 teleporters, which are fixed quest routes rather than free fast travel.
Places of Power, monster nests and treasure
The Witcher 3 map marks 30 Places of Power. Each one hands out an ability point the first time Geralt draws from it, and meditating at one refreshes a sign bonus, so the 30 pins on this map are 30 free ability points for a new playthrough.
There are 47 monster nests, 15 monster dens and 34 abandoned sites on the map. A nest is cleared by throwing a bomb into it once the monsters guarding it are dead, and an abandoned site turns back into a working village afterwards. Treasure is split between 115 hidden treasure pins, 80 guarded treasure caches and 64 smugglers' caches, the last of which sit underwater around the Skellige coast.
Races, notice boards and witcher tools
Toussaint and Velen turn racing into a sideline, and the map pins 184 horse race markers and 29 boat race markers. A race drops a marker on every checkpoint along its course, so both kinds start hidden alongside the quest objectives; switch the races group on to see a course laid out. The service layer covers the rest of a witcher's working day: 37 notice boards where contracts are posted, 44 grindstones for sharpening a silver sword and 31 armourer's tables for repairing gear, plus the alchemy and mutagen tables at Corvo Bianco.
Reading the Witcher 3 map at each zoom level
Zoom in far enough and every pin shows its name under the icon, which turns a cluster of identical signpost markers into named crossroads. Zoom back out and the map falls back to icons alone so the whole of Velen and Novigrad stays readable in one view. On a phone the pin filters collapse into a drawer on the left edge and the map takes the rest of the screen.
