Witcher 3 Items
Everything Geralt can carry in The Witcher 3 sits in one inventory: steel and silver swords, armor in three weight classes, potions and bombs, the diagrams and components they are crafted from, and the food, dyes and trophies on top. Every item carries its own rarity, level requirement and stats, and most of them can be crafted, looted or bought somewhere on the Continent.

Witcher 3 Gear Sets
The witcher school gear sets are the strongest armor and swords in The Witcher 3, each one found through a scavenger hunt and crafted from diagrams. Griffin, Wolf, Cat, Bear, Viper, Manticore and the two vampire sets upgrade through basic, enhanced, superior, mastercrafted and grandmaster tiers. A full set grants a bonus that shapes an entire build.

Witcher 3 Bestiary
The Witcher 3 bestiary sorts every monster into a class, from necrophages and specters to relicts, draconids and vampires, and that class decides which oil belongs on the silver sword. Each creature has its own attacks, weaknesses and the trophy and loot it leaves behind.

Witcher 3 Skill Trees and Mutations
The remaster reworked Witcher 3 skills into four proper trees: swordsmanship, signs, alchemy and the general perks, each twenty skills deep, with every skill opened by the ones it connects to. Only the abilities placed in a slot actually do anything, mutagens in the matching colour amplify a whole group, and the Blood and Wine mutations sit on top of all of it.

Geralt's path through The Witcher 3 crosses sorceresses, kings, witchers and the Wild Hunt itself. Ciri, Yennefer, Triss and Emhyr shape how the story ends, while the rest of the cast runs the contracts, the shops and the Gwent tables of the Continent.

The Witcher 3 Story So Far
The Witcher 3 opens years into Geralt of Rivia's story, after two games and a shelf of novels. The prologue and the three chapters follow the hunt for Ciri across the Continent while the Wild Hunt closes in and Nilfgaard marches north.
View all 19 story recaps →Witcher 3 Gwent Cards
Gwent is the card game played in taverns across The Witcher 3, with decks built from the Northern Realms, Nilfgaard, Scoia'tael, Monsters and Skellige. Unit cards bring strength and abilities such as muster, spy and medic, while neutral heroes and weather cards swing a round outright. Innkeepers, merchants and quest givers hand out the cards.

Witcher 3 Merchants
The merchants of The Witcher 3 are the blacksmiths, armorers, herbalists and shopkeepers who craft gear, sell formulae and buy the junk Geralt hauls out of caves. Each one keeps its own stock and its own supply of crowns, and only the master craftsmen of Novigrad and Toussaint will forge grandmaster gear.
